New Shows! ... And other stuff.

Hey everyone, I'm back with a new round of upcoming shows I'll be a part of in the coming months:

-Taylor Town Comic Con in Taylor, MI. Saturday, August 15 & Sunday, August 16.
-Michigan Comic Book Expo in Taylor, MI. Saturday, September 26.
-Monroe Comic Con in Monroe, MI. Saturday, October 3.
-Grand Rapids Comic Con, Grand Rapids, MI. Friday, October 16 - Sunday, October 18.

If you happen to be in any of those areas during those weekends, come on out and say hi!

In case you were wondering (all 3 of you), I've been busy getting together new pieces along with taking part in a few cool projects which I can't quite discuss at the moment, but I'm very excited to be a part of them, as they have been a blast to work on.

In the meantime, here are a few sketch covers I finished recently.

 Whiplash from Iron Man 2.

C2E2 wrap-up and things to come!

Hey everyone!  Another day, another post.  C2E2 has come and gone and like the past two years that I've attended, it did not disappoint.  This is by far my favorite show of the year, and it seems to only be getting bigger and better.  Here are a few shots from the weekend:

My table set-up.  This year I shared space with Kasey Pierce (kosmickasey.com), who was promoting her new short horror story anthology, 'Pieces of Madness' from Rocket Ink Studios.

Finally used my panoramic option on my phone's camera to get this shot.

Kasey, along with myself, and Daft Punk at the convention hotel.

Speaking of Daft Punk, I did this commission of 'Daft Smurfs'.  Very fun.

Just shooting the shit with a couple Apes. No big deal.

Overall, C2E2 is incredibly well organized for a show of it's size, and everything seemed to run smoothly for everyone.  Thank you to all who helped put the show together and to everyone who stopped by to say hi!

Next up:
Next up is the Motor City Comic Con in Novi, MI. May 15-17.  This is a hometown reunion of sorts as basically all of my friends in the field will be there.  It is always a good time and everyone looks forward to it.  I don't have my table assignment yet as with this show we don't find out until we get there, but I'll have more information as the show gets closer.  Artists in attendance to look for: Jim Tow, John Marroquin, Erick Gutierrez, Bruce Gerlach, Bill Pulkovski, Jay Fosgitt, Kelly O'Hare, Jake, Kevin, and Matt Minor, and many others!

That is it for now, thanks for reading!

Great Lakes Comic Con and things to come!

Hey everyone.  Once again, it has been a minute since I posted anything; due to my work schedule and trying to get my own personal work done for the upcoming convention season, I haven't had too much time.  But, now were in full swing of things.  Let's get started shall we?

First off, here are the first of what will be a larger series of horror film prints.  I have a few other ideas in mind, so hopefully I will have a few more before C2E2.

This past Friday night and all day yesterday was the Great Lakes Comic Con in Warren, MI.  Overall it was a HUGE improvement from last year, and the orangizers obviously went the extra mile in every way.  Since the Detroit Fanfare, which usually took place in October, was laid to rest, it looks like this will be the show that gets event goers to gear up for the rest of the season.  Attendace was EASILY 3 times as many as last year's show.  I was only able to snap two pictures:

Finally, here are the other shows I have on the horizon as of today:

-Indiana Comic Con, Indianapolis, IN. March 13-15.
-When Visions Collide 2, Tangent Gallery, Detroit, MI. April 11.
-C2E2, Chicago, Ill. April 24-26.
-Cherry Capital Comic Con, Traverse City, MI. May 22-24.
-Monroe Comic Con, Monroe, MI. October 3.

Thanks for reading.

New Year, New Things.

Hey everyone, it's been almost an entire month without a post; due to the holidays and my insane work schedule, it was very hard to find time to post.  But I'm back with a few goodies.  Let's begin, shall we?

I've had a few sketch covers laying around so during my break I decided to bring my drawing chops back, including a commission of a Walking Dead book which is a zombified Jack Nicholson from 'The Shining'.

I've had a Transformers sketch cover for the better part of 2 years; I thought Shockwave was the way to go.

And finally, like Transformers, a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles sketch cover has been laying around. This was a Detroit Fanfare exclusive from the 2012 show, which had Kevin Eastman as a featured guest.  The Rat King was always one of my favorite TMNT villains (along with Slash and Baxter Stockman), so here is my take.

Ok, and lastly is something I'm VERY excited about: I'm going to the South by Southwest Film Festival!  Sort of. My good friend J.J. Pardo approached me a few months back about possibly designing a theatrical one-sheet for a film that he and Tom Drezek co-directed and produced over the past 2 years.  Of course I said yes.  The real kicker is that their film made it into the South by Southwest Film Festival, Tribeca Film Festival, Toronto Film Festival, and New York Independent Film Festival which are fantastic achievements and I couldn't be more proud of them.  This means, this poster will be in their media kit along with being produced full-size for promotion.  Very cool.

They had a very clear vision as to what they were looking for, but they also gave me quite a bit of creative freedom when it came to the overall tone.  I'm honestly very pleased with how it turned out, and they loved it too to boot.

Well, that's it for now.  I hope to have the beginning stages of my 2015 convention schedule started by my next post.  Which cons would you like me to appear at?

Until next time...

Stumble on Trumbull

Hey everyone, hope all is well with all of you.

The 'Stumble on Trumbull' show at Cece's Pub in Corktown Detroit started last night and it was a great turnout overall.  Everyone seemed to have a great time checking out all the art from many local Michigan artists including yours truly, Erick Guiterrez, Anne Garavaglia, Kelly Nemzek, Ted Woods, Bruce Gerlach, John Marroquin, Tony Miello, Jay Fosgitt, Christopher Sanchez and many others.  If you're in the area any time now until Saturday the 20th, you should definitely check it out.  Here is what I have (had) on display:

The Joker and Darth Vader are already claimed, but The Governor, Bane, and Daft Punk are still up, along with many pieces and prints from myself and the artists I mentioned previously; so there's something for everyone, so check it out!

STUMBLE ON TRUMBULL!

Hey everyone, back this weekend with a short, but sweet, post.

In just two weeks, on Saturday, December 6th, I will be part of the 'Stumble on Trumbull' show at Cece's pub in Corktown Detroit.

I will have a few paintings there, along with all of my prints, and I'm thinking of doing a special for them just for the opening night.  In the meantime, here's the official flyer for the event:

Until next week...
